Spring Carnival Game Idea – Lucky Duck

Supplies for Spring Carnival Game -- Lucky Duck:
24 – 48 Plastic Duck Container (see below)
Assorted small carnival prizes that fit into plastic Duck Containers
Consolation Prize
Paint (non-toxic) in at least 8 different colors - or permanent marker in 8 different colors

How to Play:
This carnival game is just like the card matching game with a few changes. 

Before the carnival, turn each Duck Container over and paint a 1 inch circle of paint or a “dot” on the bottom of each duck in pairs. Next, fill the Duck Containers with prizes. Place at least 24 duck containers on the table and make sure the colored dot on the bottom of each duck is concealed.

One player plays at a time. The player is allowed to choose 2 ducks. If the colored dots on the bottom of the ducks match, the carnival player has won! The player is then allowed to choose which duck will be opened -- and they get to keep the prize in the ONE duck they choose.If the colors do not match, they return the ducks to their spots and try to choose 2 more ducks that match. Players get a total of three chances to find a match. If no match, they get a consolation prize. 

Note: the players Do NOT keep the Duck Containers; they return them to a carnival volunteer so the duck can be refilled for the game and even saved for next year's carnival!

Note: After a player finishes, have the volunteers rotate the board or mix up a few ducks to make sure the next player does not have an unfair advantage!
