BEAN BAG TOSS - SETUP & DIRECTIONS

Supplies for Bean Bag Toss:

•  Bean Bags to Toss Bean Bag Toss Game
• Clothes pins to attach to a fence or low-hanging tree branch (outside)
  
• Stakes to secure bottom from breezes (outside)
• Duct tape or push pins to attach to an open doorway
• Sidewalk chalk, large hoops or cones for stand-behind lines
• Carnival Prizes - small toys for a consultation prize and novelty prizes for the winners' prize

IF OUTSIDE:
NOTE: THIS GAME IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR A WINDY DAY - use indoors 

Game Set Up:

Before the carnival, test the bean bags and the stand for difficulty and use sidewalk chalk or tape to place “stand behind” lines for different-age children.

How to Play the Bean Bag Toss Carnival Game:

Children are given three bean bags to toss per game. Depending on the bean bag stand's setup, they win prizes based on how many bean bags make it through. Of course, everyone at least wins a consolation prize. 

Before the carnival, test the bean bags and the stand for difficulty and use sidewalk chalk or tape to place “stand behind” lines for different-age children.

Additional Hints & Tips:

Note: This is a traditional carnival game. You can make a frame for this game match your carnival theme every year if you have creative volunteers who wish to design a Bean Bag Toss Game out of plywood that is painted into a shape and designed with a secure stand!
A few years ago, our school borrowed a large monkey bean bag toss from another school to go with our Zoofari-themed Carnival. (We bought fake bananas to toss through the holes instead of bean bags - the kids loved it!) Talk to other schools in your area and share carnival booth props, that way everybody wins!!
