Spring DIY Carnival Game Idea - Flower Power!

FLOWER POWER - SETUP & DIRECTIONS

Supplies for DIY Flower Power Game:

• 6 – 12 Insect Toys for tossing (see plush bugs below)  
• 6 -12 Plastic Sand Buckets (see buckets below)
• Flower Cut Outs or Handmade Colorful card stock or poster board cut into “petals” added to the outside edge of pails to make flowers.
• Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks if needed to keep them in place
• Weight for the pails (to prevent them from tipping over)  like small water bottles, bags of beans, or sand.
• Top, Medium, and Consolation carnival prizes - bug-themed or flower prizes make this super fun! (See our suggested products below)

Make This Game:

Before the carnival, buckets should be decorated to look like flowers using colorful card stock or poster board as petals around the opening of each pail.

We cut out the center of the flower, leaving about 3 inches at the back to tuck into the pail to keep the flower in place. 

Depending on your flowers - you may need to use hot glue to prevent them from falling off the plastic buckets.

Game Set Up:

Simply set up your "flowers" in any random pattern (as we show above) and have a few stand-behind lines for the kids. Typically you will have a line closer for the younger children - toddlers, preschoolers up to about 5 years of age and a line 2 - 3 feet back for the older children.

How to Play the Flower Power Carnival Game:

Children are given three bug bean bags to toss into flower pails. This is a traditional carnival bean bag toss with many options for you to determine how prizes are handed out.

Typically, if the player does not toss a bug in a flower, they receive a consolation prize. If they can get a bug into the flower - they receive a top prize!

Additional Hints & Tips:

You may color code the flowers or make the flower petals different sizes for different prizes – the choice is up to you – kids will love to receive garden-type carnival prizes for this booth!
