WITCHES BREW HALLOWEEN GAME - SETUP & DIRECTIONS

 (Short Carnival Savers video/gif shows 3 different sized cauldrons, a sign that says Witches Brew and a stuffed frog being tossed into several cauldrons.)

Supplies for Witches Brew Game:

bullet point 3 Assorted Sizes of Witches Cauldrons or Black Kettles (see items below)
bullet pont 6 - 12  Stuffed Animal Frogs (or Toy Bats) for tossing (you may wish to have some extras as prizes)
bullet point  Mini Plastic Pumpkins with lights (below)
bullet point LED Underwater Lights (mini battery tea light candles do not fit!) 
bullet point Halloween Prize Buckets (optional)
bullet point Sign and Halloween Party Zone Tape as game decoration (optional)
bullet point Carnival Prizes - Halloween themed prizes or fall prizes are great fun!

Game Setup:

Before your event, place the 3 witch cauldrons in a grouping as shown above.

Add a underwater LED light to each Plastic Pumpkin Bucket and use this as a stand behind line.

The lights this adds weight so they will not blow around with the wind.

You may also wish to make another sand behind line further back for older children to make the game
more challenging for the "big kids".

Note: On a windy day - you can add water to the tiny pumpkins so they weighted down and will keep the stand behind line in place.

How to Play the Witches Brew Carnival Game: 

Players are given 3 stuffed frogs to toss into the witches cauldrons.

The way a player wins a "top prize" is by getting all three frogs into one of each of the cauldrons for the "witches brew"!

players try to toss a frog into the "witches brew" in order - starting with the closest to the farthest.

They can toss the frogs or bats in any order - but to win the top prize - they must have a frog in each of the kettles.

1. Players can win prizes based on the amount of total number of frogs or bats that land in the cauldrons 

How Players Win a Prize:

0 or 1 Frog into the brew = Consolation Prize
2  Frogs into different cauldrons = Middle Prize
3  Frogs in CAULDRONS - ONE FROG in EACH CAULDRON = Top Prize

2. Players can win prizes for each cauldron that they were able to toss a frog or bat in.

Each Black Kettle is coordinated to a prize, and kids win a prize for each kettle. Sometimes kids want the top prize - so they use all their frogs or bats to try to get them into the smallest cauldron. So keep that in mind. Generally, the prizes are consolation for the largest cauldron and then move up to the top prize for the smallest black kettle.

For Example:

Largest Cauldron = Halloween Friendship Bracelet
Medium Cauldron =  Glow in the Dark Martian Finger Tip
Smallest Cauldron = Mini Stuffed Animal Black Cat

Keep in mind that if you set up your game using this method, you will generally need many prizes for Kettles one two and three as these are won for most players. When purchasing prizes, make sure at one kettle has consolation prizes so you do not lose money on this booth.

Additional Hints & Tips:

Tip: For larger Halloween parties and Halloween Carnivals - run two games at the same time!

Also - these fun plastic Black Kettles can be used as Prize Buckets for this and other carnival games too!
