PICK A PUMPKIN FALL BOOTH - SETUP & DIRECTIONS(Short Carnival Savers video/gif shows a pick a pumpkin patch bag being picked out) Supplies for Pick a Pumpkin Prize Booth: Large Table or Flat Space on Concrete to set out Mini Pumpkin Bags Booth Setup:Before your festivall, if you would like to add faces to your orange bags to look like jack o lanterns use a marker and googly eyes. (see our pumpkins on the video above) Also, ask volunteers to help you fill your "pumpkins" with a small assortment of small toys or prizes. NOTE: If your game is outdoors - be sure to have something to weight down the pumpkin sacks to prevent them from blowing over. Some of your pumpkins (about 5% - 10% will have top or medium prizes so be sure to put in a Plastic Gold Coins or cash or gift cards! IMPORTANT - How do you make this booth REALLY FUN? You must have some Top Prizes the kids are really trying for! The kids get really fired up about trying their chance at winning a valuable top prize instead of just a bunch of small toys in the bag! Top prize ideas can include items that are worth at least 3 - 5 dollars or more. Be creative, you can use $5 gift cards to a local ice cream shop, bowling or skating tickets, or other larger stuffed animals. How to Play:Kids pay tickets to choose a "pumpkin" from your pumpkin patch... hoping that they get lucky and win a top prize! Be sure to let the kids know you are keeping the "pumpkins" for next year or you will need to increase the price of the tickets to cover the cost of the mini pumpkin bags too! Additional Hints & Tips:This booth is great for any fall festival or carnival. It also gives you a great way to use up the "odds and ends" of small toys and prizes that were left over from the previous year. Quick Tip: Ensure your volunteers understand that the value of the pumpkins should be much less than the ticket cost for a try (except for the 5%-10% who are top winners!) This is especially important for a fundraising carnival or festival! For example, if you are charging the equivalent of a $1 to play the game, make sure the goodies inside are worth about 25 - 40 cents each total to allow for the cost for the top winners! The carnival players are really hoping to win one of the top prizes! NOTE: if the small toys and prizes are leftover from another event and the odds and ends would not be used at another booth - then they are almost free - so have fun with this booth and hopefully you can have some local businesses donate the items for your top prizes so the booth is very low cost!! :) (Of course, candy should always be fresh - not leftover from last year.) Remember if a top prize does not fit into the bag, simply display the really cool prize so the kids can see it and put a "Winning" coin or colorful ticket in the bag! Be sure your carnival players know what awesome top prizes they could win - so make a winner's board to get everyone excited about winning a top prize! Don't forget that $10 gift cards to a cinema, favorite kids restaurants, and toy stores are a great item to add to the bags too and could be donated as well! Also, if a small business donates something worth $10 - $20 for your non-profit and it is not a good fit for the silent auction - this Pumpkin Prize Booth is a great spot for a smaller donated "kid friendly" items! |
